"Serving my hometown on the Newcastle City Council these last four years has been an honor.
I've been proud to work on investments in public safety, local infrastructure, economic development, behavioral health, and our environment. And I've fought tirelessly to protect targeted residents from hateful attacks.
If re-elected, I'll continue these efforts to ensure everyone in Newcastle has the public services and resources they need to thrive."
- Paul Charbonneau

Accomplishments
Four years ago, I was sworn-in as Newcastle's first ever Councilmember raised locally, and the then-youngest City Councilmember in King County.
I haven't taken my postion for granted - We have accomplished so much in four short years. Here are a few of my proudest accomplishments:
-
Led efforts to double the amount of city town halls and make them more accessible to the average resident
-
Made good on my 2021 campaign promise to leverage state dollars, pushing to hire a lobbyist for the city which has brought back $1.284 Million to city projects
-
Funded public safety through voting for an additional police officer, expanded domestic violence services for victims, and voting to add sidewalks to every part of our city that didn’t have a safe place to walk on either side of the road
-
Moved to add a left-turn light from the QFC parking lot
-
Led Newcastle into joining the King County-Cities Climate Collaboration to track our carbon emissions and give us access to funding and resources to fight Climate Change
-
Created and Chaired our current Newcastle Economic & Community Development Committee
-
Stood up to far-right and anti-LGBTQ hate when it flooded our council chambers and put the spotlight on our city, organizing our first ever Newcastle Pride march
-
Introduced legislation for a city Asian-American & Pacific Islander Commission, and behavioral health emergency response
-
Worked to get Newcastle it's only seats on a King County Regional Committee, and a Sound Cities Association leadership committee, helping us be represented at the larger level
-
Engage our youth by speaking to Bellevue College students multiple times each year, and mentoring a student at the University of Washington Evans school of Public Policy each year
